Our Advanced Diploma in Audio Post Production for Film and TV is designed to give you the “real world” skills and confidence to springboard you towards a rewarding career working with motion picture sound. The course has been created in collaboration with award-winning audio engineers and post-production specialists who are working at the forefront of the industry. You’ll benefit from the experience and expertise of our team and network of industry professionals as well as the important peer to peer learning that prepares you for the collaborative nature of the audio industry. The part-time timetable alongside access to our facilities 7 days a week will enable you to focus your time and energy during class while managing project-based learning in your own time alongside other commitments. This course is taught in person at our facilities in Angel and is not available online.
You’ll develop your practical and technical skills using established industry-standard equipment, including the new state-of-the-art Avid S6 powered Dolby Atmos mix suite located at our new home Angel Recording Studios, featuring immersive ATC monitoring, a dedicated Dolby Atmos Rendering and Mastering Workstation, Pro Tools | HDX, and Pro Tools | MTRX hardware. This will be complemented by dedicated masterclasses in Abbey Road Studios’ Dolby Atmos Mix Stage, delivered by Abbey Road engineers, as well as off-site location recording. The course will enable you to build a thorough understanding of post-production workflows and practices that will give you the confidence to get started on the next step of your career.
The course requires prior knowledge of sound theory, recording and production techniques, Avid Pro Tools and fundamental knowledge of audio post principles, practice and terminology. You are likely to have already completed a related course in music production and/or sound engineering or be an audio industry professional who wants to specialise in post-production. You’ll leave this course prepared for the workplace, either as an employee of a post-production facility or as a freelancer.
