Sound Editor, Sound Designer, Re-recording Mixer, Dubbing Mixer, Post-production Engineer, Mix Technician, Music Editor, ADR Mixer, Foley Mixer, Foley Editor, Sound Assistant.

Neil O’Hagan

Music Technology Teacher

Since graduating, Neil O’Hagan now currently works at The Harbour School, Hong Kong as a High School/Middle School Music Technology Teacher. Here, Neil teaches Music Tech classes to Middle School Students (Grade 6 GarageBand, Grades 7 & 8 Logic Pro X) and for High School students (Grades 9-12) he teaches two subjects: Music Production & Songwriting + Audio Composition & Post Production for Film & TV.

Neil says that since working at Harbour School, he has incorporated many of the skills that he learnt whilst studying at Abbey Road Institute. His High School students have written, recorded & produced their own tracks, as well as recreate and reimagine classic hits. They have also recreated the entire soundscape from selected clips of classic movies. As well as this, Neil uses his skills in sound engineering to set up the microphones and engineer the live sound for the school’s affluent Winter Concert.
Outside of work, Neil plays keys in a number of gigs for Hong Kong based Australian musician Glen Alfred, and has performed solo piano & guitar gigs, playing his own original material. He is also still in touch with ARI alumni Marko Mihaljević, and they have recorded several songs together.

Sinéad Storey

Artist

Sinéad Storey graduated from Abbey Road Institute London in 2019 and went on to enrol on a degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering at the University of London. She says this was due to her being particularly inspired by her electronics lectures, taught by Nikolay Georgiev, so she decided to pursue this particular subject further. During her time studying with us, Sinead collaborated with her fellow students and went onto form band Harimau with class members Boris Massot and John Butcher. Their music is inspired by a variety of artists and genres from Lorde to Arctic Monkeys, Massive Attack, and Billie Eilish. Harimau started gigging and releasing their own music early in 2020.

Sinéad’s future ambition for the band is to continue writing, recording and releasing more music with the hopes of playing festivals and securing synchronisation opportunities for film and tv.
