Justin Randell
Justin Randell is a sound designer working on feature films and documentaries. Recent projects include Tape, which is nominated for Best International Feature at the Raindance Film Festival (2025). With a diverse creative and technical background, he has recorded and mixed music projects and collaborated with Aphex Twin on live tour visuals.
He has worked with Dolby Atmos since its inception, sharing his expertise as a consultant on the design of the Tate Modern Starr Dolby Atmos Cinema as well as Dean Street’s Dolby Atmos music studio, amongst several other studios and facilities in the UK.
Alongside freelance work, he lectures at the Abbey Road Institute, London South Bank University, Queen Mary University, and the University of West London. He is an accredited Avid Pro Tools Instructor in audio post-production. Recent research publications include chapters on immersive audio and modular synthesis (Rethinking Immersive Audio & Modular Synthesis as Compositional Performance).
