Miles Wheway
Miles Wheway completed our Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering in 2021, after which he joined our team as a technician. Before starting the course with us, he had previously studied Maths and Music at Royal Holloway, focussing particularly on composition but decided to shift focus towards production and recording.
Some highlights during his time on the course include playing piano and bass in Abbey Road’s Studio Two during a recording workshop with Haydn Bendall, collaborating with fellow students to record the live set of an alumnus group from the Institute, and recording a live string quartet as part of his final submission. Miles also began working closely with the Latin-funk band Naia. He engineered the recording and mixing of multiple tracks with the group in our Custom 75 studio, making ample use of the skills he had learnt on the course, and he continues to work with them since graduating.
Miles aims to develop himself further as both an engineer and producer, expanding the portfolio of artists and musicians he works with. His long-term goal is to join a recording studio. Find out more about Miles on his website.
