Alex Bennett

Alex Bennett is a skilled mix engineer and producer. After completing our Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering in October 2022, Alex signed his first record deal with Common Knowledge in 2024.

Before his role at Common Knowledge, Alex spent a year at Abbey Road Institute as a technician and runner across Angel One and Abbey Road Studios.  During his studies with us, Alex worked with several producers in our Custom 75 Studio, including Ed Nash and Zach Fogarty. 

While building his portfolio, Alex has dabbled in freelancing as a podcast engineer and producer. He has also previously worked with Studio 13, (Damon Albarn’s studio) and VoxPod – run by the mix engineer James Reynolds. Prior to joining our programme, he received a Bachelor’s in English and Music from the University of Leeds. 

After taking a momentary songwriting break, the alumnus is back and has spent the last six months finishing and mixing his first three singles with Common Knowledge. 

Speaking about this, Alex says: “It’s quite nice to be back making music again with Daniel (fellow Abbey Road graduate) – there’s nothing I enjoy more. We’re both older now and our perspectives have changed and the music coming from that is really cool to me.”

Looking ahead, Alex is focusing on writing something special, and cohesive – a project that his friends and family will love, equally. Additionally, he has plans to put a live show together.
