Ray Pope

Ray Pope joined Universal Music in September 2015 after studying popular and world music at Leeds University. As a musician and a musical graduate she always saw herself in a creative role in the industry. After working in front line label talent acquisition she realised she had found her ideal role – helping people to find their dream job in an industry that means so much to so many.

In her spare time Ray still performs regularly at Ronnie Scott’s and with a hip hop brass band called Brassroots which helps enhance her understanding of the world she is recruiting into.

Ray has given guest lecturers at Abbey Road Institute on topics such as CV writing, how to get into the music industry and how best to prepare for the world of work after graduating. Our students had the chance to ask her questions and gain advice on where to find the best jobs and what recruiters like Ray look for in a CV.
