Pauline Swen Chow

Pauline Swen Chow is a composer and engineer who graduated from our Advanced Diploma in Production and Sound Engineering in 2025.
Originally from Canada, Pauline grew up playing classical piano and achieved an Associate’s Diploma in Classical Piano Performance with the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2015. She has explored other instruments, including violin, flute, oboe, and guitar. After a few years in big tech, she discovered sound engineering upon moving to London and decided to pursue music professionally.
During her studies, she recorded rising jazz artists such as Nestor Vasilikas, Lester Rideout, Joseph Game, and Zaki Osahn (Nestor Vasilikas Quartet), as well as the Canadian bluegrass duo Bon Echo. She also recorded an original track with producer Haydn Bendall in Studio Two at Abbey Road as part of a guest lecture. Through a partnership with Regent’s University, she collaborated with emerging writers and directors to score several short films to be released this summer.
Currently, Pauline works as a technician at the school and as a studio engineer at Audio Always, contributing to podcasts like Trusty Hogs and How Do You Cope (BBC Sounds). As a freelancer, she edited guest lecturer John Dunkerley’s latest classical album, due for release this autumn. As a composer, Pauline released a mini EP, ‘The Stillness Before Daybreak’, earlier this year and continues to score for films and commercials.
Right now, Pauline Swen Chow is expanding her sound design portfolio and studying middleware to break into the film and games industry.
