Maria Yasmin Al-Said

Maria Yasmin Al-Said is a producer, composer, recording engineer, and artist based in London. Having recently graduated from our Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering, Maria has returned to a dual role as a Technician and Runner. Additionally, she continues to freelance as a producer and writer for a diverse range of emerging artists. Maria draws on both experiences to bring a flexible, collaborative approach to creative and technical work alike.

Al-Said is also the artist behind Yaz León, an alt-soul project praised for its rich storytelling and experimental production. Her 2023 EP Bleach (kindly) received editorial support from Wonderland, Notion, and COLORSxSTUDIOS, spotlighting her as a bold new voice in the UK’s alternative scene.

Before her studies, Maria freelanced in independent studios, toured across the UK, and co-founded a gear rental startup—experiences that shaped her technical confidence and resourcefulness. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2022), which, she notes, comes in handy every now and then.

Maria Yasmin Al-Said focuses on emotionally driven, artist-led collaboration, whether in session, on stage, or behind the scenes. She is currently developing new music under Yaz León while continuing to build her portfolio in production and recording.
