Held at Angel Studios in Angel One (Adele, Sam Smith, The Cure), this exclusive masterclass will delve into the art of recording drums. The two-day masterclass will examine the many aspects a drummer must take into account when recording and the myriad of elements an engineer and producer should consider.
Award-winning producer, Haydn Bendall (Kate Bush, Massive Attack, Paul McCartney) and drum session extraordinaire, Ralph Salmins (Elton John, Madonna, Bjork, The Waterboys) have teamed up to develop this innovative two-day masterclass to give an insight into the considerations that need to be taken into account when recording drums. Over the two days, you will view recording from both aspects, as a drummer and producer. Haydn and Ralph will spend time discussing what people on either side of the “glass” must appreciate and what can be realistically expected and achieved.
During the drums production masterclass, you will learn what both drummers and engineers must consider in their collaboration to get a sound that is ideally suited to the music, thus giving both schools there a chance to see into each other’s worlds.
