Last year we were delighted to have two of Abbey Road Studios’ engineers embark on a European tour of our Abbey Road Institutes. Andrew Dudman, Senior Engineer, (who has worked on many film scores from Guardians of the Galaxy, Steve Jobs and Mission Impossible, to the Oscar-winning score for Gravity) and Paul Pritchard, Assistant Engineer (worked with Kylie, Paolo Nutini, Ed Sheeran and also on scores for Harry Potter, The Hobbit and Fantastic Beasts) took time out of their busy schedules at Abbey Road, to give masterclasses for students at each of our schools across Europe.
In the first interview of a three-part video masterclass, they discuss their different roles, working together on orchestral recordings, and the need for meticulous attention to detail in the work they do.
Interviews two and three will expand across their vast array of experiences in recording and share insights from behind the scenes at Abbey Road. These short films were created during their visit to our school in Paris.
