This week we’re excited to share that two of our expert Abbey Road Studios engineers are on tour giving exclusive guest lectures at our four Abbey Road Institutes across Europe.
Andrew Dudman and Paul Pritchard will be starting the week at Abbey Road Institute Paris, before visiting Abbey Road Institute Berlin, Abbey Road Institute Frankfurt and finishing the week at Abbey Road Institute Amsterdam on Friday.
They’ll be sharing insights into what its like working at Abbey Road Studios and passing on their expertise and knowledge to our students. This is the first engineers tour of its kind courtesy of Abbey Road Studios and we’re delighted to be able to provide this highly informative and enlightening education at our schools.
Andrew Dudman has worked on many musicals, production library music and a wide range of computer games. He also does pop projects (Professor Green, Robbie Williams, Underworld, Elbow) as well as classical recordings both in the Studios and on the road with Abbey Road’s Mobile Unit. In 2014, Andrew was awarded the Pro Sound News – Engineer of the Year. Notably, he worked as Score Editor on the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, winning an MPSE Award for Fellowship of the Ring. He then received nominations for the same award for the Two Towers and Return of the King.
Paul Pritchard has worked as an assistant / pro tools engineer on a great number of projects across a wide range of genres. His credits include pop and rock sessions with, the Arctic Monkeys, Chas and Dave, Sting, Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Sigur Ros, Take That, Birdy, Elbow. He has also done live studio sessions with Paolo Nutini, Alt J, Blondie; film music sessions for Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Les Miserables, Unbroken, San Andreas; and classical sessions with Villazon/Pappano and the London Symphony Orchestra. Paul is also a sound engineer in his own right, recording the late great Jack Bruce’s album ‘Silver Rails’ and co-engineering Kylie’s ‘The Abbey Road Sessions’.
