Jonnie Berlevy

Jonnie Berlevy

Since graduating from Abbey Road Institute, Jonnie Berlevy currently works as a freelance Recordist & Mix Engineer.

He works all over London to record bands, as well as mobile recording and mixing from his home studio. Every session is different, however, Jonnie keeps the end goal the same every time. He likes to ensure that all sessions are smooth running and that the artists are happy with the final product.

Going freelance has meant that Jonnie has finally been able to record drums again – a passion of his that he missed since leaving Abbey Road Institute. Some of Jonnie’s most notable projects include: producing the jingle and theme for Sky Arts ‘Book Club’ and recording for Sky Arts ‘The Numan Method.’

This year, Jonnie has been working as an assistant at Studio Ten87. Here, he helps set up sessions, pack them down, and operate Pro Tools for engineers.
Additionally, Jonnie has been expanding his reach with collaborative projects. He’s currently working with up-and-coming rapper/singer Romaya. So far, they have two unreleased songs under their belt and are currently in the process of making an EP. Jonnie’s main roles within this duo are producing, recording, mixing and mastering.

As a multi-faceted creative, Jonnie has recently collaborated with Sessions Arts Clubs as a composer for their “Uniform Fall” video. In addition to curating a playlist of old vinyl records for a project titled ‘Played to Death’ with designer Martine Rose.

As for what’s next, Jonnie says: “I want to record more bands!”
