Jack Chown

Jack Chown graduated from our Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering in 2016 and now works as a freelance music producer, composer and music supervisor.

Straight after graduation, he started working as an assistant/engineer at Baltic Studios. During this time he worked with an impressive client list of artists and producers such as Liam Gallagher, James Bay, MIA and Kid Harpoon, Stint and Andrew Wyatt. Following his work at Baltic, he also spent some time working for Spitfire Audio as a developer.

Jack now splits his time between being a producer, composer and creating music for sync, which often intersect. As a producer, he has recently started a solo project under the moniker kiskadee; as well as collaborating with artists such as Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Tycho Jones + Haelos on their own releases. He started working in sync as a composer and supervisor in 2018 with brands such as Asahi, Adidas, Sony, American Express, Levi’s, Nike and Puma. This led him to co-found Underscore, a sync-focused label, and publisher. Outside of this Jack is also working on various non-sync-related projects such as an upcoming VICE/HBO documentary series.

In 2020, he also launched his own solo project : kiskadee, a collection of bittersweet beats and electronic soundscapes. The project has garnered support from BBC 6music, Complex and Clash. Here, he is also able to explore new ways of experiencing audio-visual works in clubs, galleries and the metaverse; and is currently developing an album project for release later this year, 2023.You can find out more about Jack on his website.
