Elettra Bargiacchi
Elettra Bargiacchi is an Italian sound designer, composer, and musician based in Leipzig, Germany, where she runs her own studio. In 2023, she graduated from the Advanced Diploma in Audio Post-Production for Film and TV. Since then, she has built a career as a freelance audio post-production professional for film.
Elettra’s work spans sound design, dialogue editing, foley, mixing, and composition. Since graduating, she has primarily worked on short films for international productions (UK, Germany, Australia, US). Additionally, she has contributed to TV series and feature productions, for example, for ZDF, the German national broadcaster.
Elettra collaborates with the University of Surrey as a sound designer and visiting researcher alongside her freelance work. Here she focuses on immersive audio and media personalisation in close collaboration with BBC R&D. Her research led to a paper presented at the AES New York Conference 2024, followed by a second paper at I3DA 2025 – the Immersive and 3D Audio Conference. Elettra is a member of the VDT (Verband Deutscher Tonmeister – German Association of Audio Professionals) and serves on its R&D Board.
Parallel to her work in sound, she continues to perform as a musician, collaborating with theatre projects and performing in both classical and rock music contexts. She has also been hosting a radio show dedicated to Italian underground music on the German station Radio Blau for the past ten years.
