Matthew Butler
Matthew Butler is a 2024 graduate of our Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering. Since completing his studies, he has embarked on a career as the Owner and Operator of Primordial Sound Studios. In addition to his role as a Music Technician at Harrow School.
Butler’s Music Technician position involves recording large ensembles, small student bands and maintaining studio spaces and classrooms. In addition to assisting with set-ups for recording sessions.
At Primordial Sound Studios, the alumnus exercises his refined skill sets via a different creative vessel. Here he works as a music producer, session drummer and mixing and mastering engineer.
Regarding career highlights, one that stands out was the paid commission he worked on for BHG. This process involved working as a session drummer and editing and mixing a song!
Moving forward, Butler has a range of exciting collaborative projects under his belt. Including a forthcoming project with Self Currency, which he got to produce, record and mix several songs on. And upcoming gigs with two bands in the London Metal Coalition.
As for long-term plans, Matthew Butler seeks to invest in the creation and adaptation of his business. Here, he is keen to offer discounted rates, help emerging bands and musicians the access to creative opportunities.
