Abbey Road Studios Diversity Scholarship Programme

Scholarship for aspiring producers and engineers

Abbey Road Studios has returned with its Diversity Scholarship Programme for 2024. It will support two students, from under-represented groups in the field of music production and sound engineering, to study at Abbey Road Institute London. The Scholarship covers the full cost of the course fees and a contribution towards living expenses for two students to study on our Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering starting on 28th May 2024. There is an option for the successful students to progress onto a year-long work placement at Abbey Road Studios.

The scholarship is part of Abbey Road’s established programme of initiatives to support greater diversity within the music industry including outreach work, events, workshops and mentoring with schools and charities across the UK aimed at opening the door for more young people into careers in music.

The Diversity Scholarship aims to support a broad group of applicants from backgrounds which are underrepresented in the field of music production and sound engineering. This includes, but is not limited to, those from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, women and those from low income households. The committee awarding the scholarship will specifically look to help those who don’t have the financial resources to study on the course or study for a year in London.

Abbey Road Institute is a small specialist music production school that was established in 2015 to provide a highly specialised one-year programme for aspiring audio professionals. The course curriculum was created in collaboration with the Studio team and professionals from across all areas of the music industry, from producers and engineers to music business experts. The Institute’s Advanced Diploma brings together both the creative and technical elements of recording and producing music preparing students for the realities of the music industry.

*Applications for 2024 are now closed and will reopen in the new year for candidates in 2025.*
